“As many of you know, I enjoy the challenge and the creative expression that our only blend affords me! Each harvest I recognize the myriad of options to assemble a wine from such diverse origins. As I walk the vineyards, some owned, some under contract, I revel in the variety of soils, micro-climates and topography of the Napa Valley. The 2021 Fraternity is all about the Cab! I worked with 8 appellations and 11 different vineyards to coax both power and finesse from these many sources. I have found that Petit Verdot adds a layer of complexity and intrigue to the blend while Syrah has always been featured in our Fraternity to provide power and structure. This vintage will satisfy all of the Cab fans and yet, there is just enough mystique to keep you guessing! Uncork daily and enjoy.”

“The 2021 vintage was a personal milestone for me as it marked a decade at the winery. My goal with this vintage was to convey a serious and elegant expression of the grape varieties and terroir that we work with throughout Napa Valley’s diverse AVAs. A smooth growing season with low precipitation yielded smaller grapes with intensely concentrated flavors and smaller yields per vine. Quality was high across the board and the wines are approachable and complex now, with the concentration and structure to age.”
