This is where the similarities to Bordeaux really shine. With the Estate Cabernet Sauvignon as the base to this Left Bank styled wine, the addition of Merlot and Cabernet Franc creates layers of complexities and adds more mouthfeel (one of the great characteristics of Merlot) and perfume of violets (thanks to Cabernet Franc) to the nose. This wine shows great backbone and structure with hints of black fruit, plum, sage and cedar smoke. The fine grained tannins will give this wine years in the cellar but it is already drinking beautifully.
