Tasting Notes
“The second wine from Tenuta Luce, a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese, is the result of a selection of the portions of the vineyard most suited to the production of a very pleasurable wine with a fruity profile. The wine is an intense and bright red color. The nose opens with intense fruity hints of blackberry, plum and currant, enriched by toasted and vanilla nuances. On the palate it is full and enveloping, soft and elegant, with a persistent finish that displays a pleasantly sweet and fruity finish.”
93 Points James Suckling – “Blueberries, earth, fresh flowers and stems on both the nose and palate. Medium-bodied with round, creamy tannins and a savory finish. Second wine of Luce. Delicious to drink now.”
91 Points Decanter – “Bright cherry red with touches of sour cherry on the attack, opening up to raspberry and blackberry. High acidity makes it naturally mouthwatering and sappy with a smoky balance on the finish. This is enjoyable and unfussy, begging for food. Certified organic since 2015. Drinking Window 2021 – 2030”
91 Points Antonio Galloni – “The 2018 La Vite Lucente is bright, fresh and wonderfully perfumed. Sweet dark cherry, plum, mocha, lavender and wild flowers all run through this gracious, mid-weight red. Fresh and nuanced, the 2018 is a big departure from the wines of a few years ago. The purity of the fruit here is striking.”
90 Points Wine Spectator – “Reserved, this red holds black cherry, plum, herb and iron flavors close, with dusty tannins putting a lock on the finish. Has depth, with the fruit elements lingering on the finish. Merlot and Sangiovese. Drink now through 2025. 7,500 cases imported.”
