Blue Farm takes its name from the farmhouse at Anne Moller-Racke’s home and vineyard in Carneros. It is a blend of our Pinot Noir vineyards, stretching the length of the Sonoma Coast.

Tasting Notes

The Vintage 2021 saw very little rain with a total rainfall of 10 inches, far below our average of 22 inches. The rain came in small increments through March. A mild January and February combined with dry soils caused an early bud break. Those tender shoots were caught by surprise by the cold March and April nights. We had to run our wind machine for many nights. Shoot growth was slowed by these cold night temperatures, but made gains in late May and June. We suckered early to eliminate any competition and used organic foliar nutrients to add to the vine health. Our summer was mild, easing our irrigation needs. We only saw a few high temperatures in late August and early September which pushed harvest into gear. Low yields but beautiful fruit/ wines were the reward of 2021.

This wine is supple, black raspberry, pomegranate and dusty plum. The integrated but firm tannins are softened by great extract. This is a delicious Pinot Noir from the coast. Enjoy! –Anne-Moller-Racke
