“The 2021 Oakville Reserve Cab is composed from 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, 1% Petit Verdot. The fruit for comes entirely from the Fortuna and Leopoldina Vineyards. Located in Eastern Oakville, these sites are situated upon the famous volcanic red soils that the Oakville AVA is known for. The soils from both sites give richness and texture to the resulting wines. The Fortuna Vineyard sits proudly on the alluvial fan at the base of the Oakville bench, and contributes red fruit and spice components to this wine. The Leopoldina Vineyard, high on the bedrock ridge above the Fortuna Vineyard, highlights structure, texture, and mid-palate weight.”

95 Points International Wine Review – “The 2021 Turnbull Oakville Reserve is composed of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon along with a dash of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot which was sourced from Leopoldina (61%) and Fortuna (39%). It instantly begins to impress as it opens to alluring aromatics of ripe black currants, cassis and blueberries which come together with spices, graphite, dried herbs and spring florals that all develop beautifully in the glass. On the palate this possesses a full body, with a gorgeous voluptuous texture, supported by nicely integrated, well-polished tannins. It shows wonderful overall balance, structure and concentration through the long supple finish. While this is showing marvelous now, it should continue to offer drinking pleasure for years to come.”
